On Thursday, November 17th, the Kigali International Financial Center (KIFC) and the Raffles Family Office, a renowned private wealth management firm, based in Singapore and Hong Kong introduced the KIFC to over 50 potential investors. The hosts invited them to explore investment opportunities In Africa with Rwanda as an ideal springboard.
KIFC’s CEO Nick Barigye along with National Bank of Rwanda (NBR) Governor John Rwangombwa, Raffles Family Office Group CEO Chi-man Kwan & CFA Society Singapore President Simon Ng Chee Wei took part in a panel discussing the key pillars of a thriving financial sector.
In a second panel, Christian Ruehmer, Q-Lana’s CEO/Founding Partner and the CTO of BK Group, Cliff Muligande demonstrated how investment ready the market in Rwanda is. Christian explained the origins of Q-Lana’s operations in Rwanda, the benefits of operating from there to conduct the company’s expansion in Africa and how KIFC is supporting these activities.
He also expanded on Q-Lana’s plans to create an investment vehicle to promote international investments in SMEs in Rwanda and across the continent.
The event was a significant opportunity to showcase Rwanda’s burgeoning role as an international financial center, as Christian stated after the event: “This is a cause I strongly believe in. I am enthusiastic for in advocating Rwanda’s emergence as a hub for financial activities”
The event was organized during this year’s Singapore FinTech Festival 2023, the world’s largest and most important annual Fintech event.
